For the month of May, Flowers Across Melbourne will be supporting the Sexual Assault and Family Violence Centre for the work they are doing in the primary prevention of violence against women and family violence. Between 2019 and 2020 they supported 2,406 clients by offering free and confidential specialist sexual assault and family violence services to those who had experienced it, or anyone affected by it. The time for discussion around these issues is now, and we want to help encourage support and change in our greater society. By purchasing our Darling Disbuds Blue in May, you're not only helping us donate 10% of the total, but you're adding another voice to the discussion.
Proceeds: 10% of Darling Disbuds - Blue sales during May

We are a community based, not-for-profit organisation offering free and confidential specialist sexual assault and family violence services. We have operated for over 40 years in the Barwon area and in the Wimmera district since 2013. Our experienced staff work closely with anyone who has experienced sexual assault or family violence in supporting their recovery; to alleviate the negative impacts of violence on their lives; and create opportunities for them to rebuild their sense of control. We also work with anyone else affected, including family and friends. In 2019/20 we supported 4,206 clients.
Our organisation is deeply committed to the primary prevention of violence against women and family violence and we have delivered programs in this area since 2011. We also design and deliver training to support the primary prevention of violence against women and family violence; to recognise and respond to disclosures of sexual assault and family violence; strengthen workforce capability in working with people impacted by trauma, and; building an understanding of vicarious trauma to vicarious resilience.
Short Story: The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre (The SAFV Centre) was created in 2016 following the merger between Barwon Centre Against Sexual Assault (Barwon CASA) and Minerva Community Services (Minerva).
Our experienced staff work closely with anyone who has experienced sexual assault or family violence in supporting their recovery; to alleviate the negative impacts of violence on their lives; and create opportunities for them to rebuild their sense of control.
